Stephen Russell had been reported missing on the 9th of June after last being seen in Portree at his home on the Isle of Skye. There was a bit of circulation of the appeal for his whereabouts on social media, but Mr Russell was completely oblivious to the fact. Police had thought that he was walking The West Highland Way, or The Great Glen Way. The West Highland Way stands at a distance of 154.5km, while the Great Glen Way is 127km and would of course take a reasonable amount of time for a backpacker to complete from start to finish. After reportedly having visited a remote bothy in Glen Dessary, he has been traced to the Bridge of Oich area. Police have thanked all those who shared his information during the appeal.
