A short while ago, I was contacted by Grisport in reference to their range of hiking and trekking boots. In all honesty; it was a company that I had not previously heard of and did wonder what they may have to offer and so I headed to their website to have a gander through their range. It quickly became apparent that they must know a little bit about a well fitting piece of footwear, as they produce stock for more uses than just hiking. That may alert some people to wonder just how good one area of their catalogue may be also?
So, that brought me to read through the spec on their range of walking/hiking/trekking boots. Italian leather, waterproof lining, vibram sole and a little twist of innovation in their own ankle ‘Support System’ make these boots sound like the real deal. Taking note of the price point at which they are available leads me to wonder why they hadn’t yet come across my radar.
Grisport have kindly sent a pair of their ‘Crusader’ boots for test, and they will certainly be getting lots of use over the remainder of the year. They are a 3 season boot, with what feels like just the right amount of flex upon first look. The Italian leather looks of a good quality, the boot overall seems rugged. The ankle support is a bit of a mystery to me at the moment, but time will tell whether or not it truly works.
Keep your eyes peeled for some thoughts on these in the future.
