Grindsbrook Clough and Grindslow Knoll – April 2016

A day of changeable weather conditions heading up Grindsbrook Clough, as is often found in the Dark Peak area of the Peak District. A very nice, steady meander through Grindsbrook Clough culminates in an easy scramble up and onto the Kinder Plateau. The Great Ridge can be seen across the Vale of Edale, with Mam Tor more or less directly opposite, and Hollins Cross, Back Tor and Lose Hill following off to the East. The Kinder Plateau itself is a fantastic place to explore, and walks on to Kinder Downfall can be had from here. Similarly, Grindslow Knoll can be reached in a few minutes. Lengthier walks along the southern Edge of Kinder Scout are appealing, with either direction giving possibilities for longer routes.
