At the end of spring/beginning of summer, Alpkit finally released some much anticipated extra products. Re-releasing their down sleeping bags along with some new tents certainly got people talking and not least of all due to Alpkit having been able to keep their prices relatively low.[You can now read the review “here”
Much famed for their Pipedram and Skyhigh ranges of down sleeping bags, the company actually began with walking poles. It was kept quiet that a new ultralight pair were on the cards aswell as the eagerly awaited sleeping bags but with that said; they certainly do look as though they will be up to Alpkit’s acclaimed quality:price ratio. You would certainly be hard pressed to find another pair of carbon walking poles, weighing only 140g for £45.
It’s not often that you find products made from good quality materials, that the manufacturer keeps at a low price point in the outdoor industry; but Alpkit have got it right again with these poles. Pretty spartan in terms of their features, but then walking poles should be designed with function over form.
